  17. <p>    To sing again! That wish sustained Spanish tenor Jose
  18. Carreras during months of treatment for leukemia. Ranked with
  19. opera's superstars, he became ill two years ago. Last week, in
  20. an emotional Carnegie Hall concert, his voice was heard in New
  21. York City for the first time since 1987. Performing is now an
  22. even greater pleasure, he says. "Every time is like a miracle."
